In this article, we will discuss an important topic about Creating Web Disk Account from cPanel. First, we talk about What is Web Disk?

Web Disk is a drag-and-drop interface in cPanel which allows you to access your website’s files from your desktop. It fosters the process of file management related to your website. On creating a Web Disk account and accessing the Web Disk feature you can easily navigate, upload, download files to and from the web server easily.

We will do this with some simple steps. Please follow these steps carefully.

 

Step 1 : Log in to your cPanel Dashboard and search for Web Disk Option. (view below image)

 

Step 2 : Navigate to “Create an Additional Web Disk Account” section and fill account details. (view below image)

Please note that the username with the domain name (example@your_domain.com) is your username for login.

Enter Password for your Web Disk Account.

Select directory. Your selected directory will the root directory for this Web Disk Account.

Choose the permission type: Read-Write or Read-Only

If your site has SSL Certificate then do not check “Enable Digest Authentication”.

 

Step 3 : Click on Create.

Now a new Web Disk Account has been created. Now you can use this Account to manage your files on the server.

Important Points to Remember

1. After creating your Web Disk Account, you can view the login details from the Web Disk Option of cPanel.
2. Please use a strong password for a secured Account.
3. If you select Read-Only Option then you can only view the files from your PC, but you can not edit, modify, delete the files.
4. You can delete any Web Disk Account except the main Account.
